It started with a question
Which is higher praise: super good or great? Ask a room and you'll get an argument. This site settles it by asking everyone, one bout at a time.
Every time you pick a side, your vote goes into a ranking model (Bradley–Terry, if you're curious) that works out how heavy each phrase feels to the crowd. On the scale, that weight is drawn directly into the type: the heavier the praise, the heavier the letters.
Some bouts come with a sentence, because words shift with context. “Super good” might beat “great” for a sandwich and lose badly for a surgeon. We're measuring that too.
Votes are anonymous. We keep a random ID in a cookie so you don't see the same bout twice, and after ten bouts we'll ask three optional questions (age range, region, first language) so we can show how different groups read the same words. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies.
